- The terms and conditions stated below refer to usage of the Turpin Distribution Services Ltd (TDSL) Journals e-commerce site only. TDSL acts as an order fulfilment agent for various journal publishers and accepts no liability in relation to the contract between the journal owner and the subscriber. Subscribers should contact the journal publisher for specific terms and conditions of supply.
- TDSL collects subscription monies on behalf of publishers. Payment by credit/debit card is the only method of payment in the e-commerce site. TDSL accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express and most major debit cards.
- Journal prices may vary according to whether an individual or institutional subscription is purchased. Please note that an individual subscription is only valid when purchased using a personal credit card and delivery is to a home address. TDSL reserves the right to charge the price which is appropriate to the customer irrespective of the selection made in the ecommerce site. Failure to pay the correct price may result in suspension of supply until any underpayments are received by TDSL.
- TDSL reserves the right to charge any additional delivery costs arising as a result of a change to the delivery address during the term of a subscription. Deliveries may be suspended while any such additional costs remain unpaid.
- VAT at the UK standard rate is chargeable for online journals supplied to UK-based customers and for non-registered customers based elsewhere in the EU. Tax registered customers in the EU (excluding UK) must state their VAT number or VAT at the appropriate % will be charged.
- Journals which have a combination of online and printed elements will be subject to VAT on the online element only. The proportion of value attributed to the online element (and hence VAT charged) may vary by publisher and title.
- TDSL provides fulfilment and distribution services to a large number of publishers. We are obliged to pass on your details to any publisher to whose publications you subscribe. Your details will not be shared with any other organisation except for the express purpose of providing you with the service you have paid for. This might include online hosts, postal authorities etc.
- The materials in the Site are provided without warranties of any kind either express or implied including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, security or accuracy. TDSL will not be liable for any damages or injury caused by, including but not limited to, any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation of transmission, computer virus, line failure, technical inaccuracies, typographical errors or the inability to use the materials in the site.
- Our site may contain links to other sites, which we believe may be of interest to you. These sites are not owned or controlled by us and we are not responsible for their content.
- These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, regardless of where the user is based. You agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these terms shall be filed only in the United Kingdom, and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action.
